The Coal Ministry has achieved a historic milestone by dispatching an astounding 500 million tonnes of coal in the first half of the current fiscal year, showcasing exceptional efficiency.

New Delhi: With an amazing level of efficiency and output, the Coal Ministry has hit a huge milestone by sending out an amazing 500 million tonnes of coal in the first half of this fiscal year. Despite the difficulties of the rainy season, this amazing feat was completed, making this a proud moment for the country’s coal business.

The Ministry wants to produce and send 1012 million tonnes of coal to customers during the fiscal year 2023–24. This is a huge goal. As of October 17, 2023, 500 million tonnes had already been sent out, which means that the Coal Ministry is well on track to not only meet but possibly even beat this amazing goal.

In the past, coal production and shipping tend to speed up in the second half of the year. Experts think that the total amount of coal shipped this year could go over one billion tonnes. Just to give you an idea, the 500 million tonnes delivery milestone was reached on November 9, 2022, during the previous fiscal year. It’s amazing that the Coal Ministry reached the same goal 23 days earlier this year than they did last year.

A huge 416.57 million tonnes of the 500 million tonnes sent are for the power sector, which means a growth rate of 7.27% year-over-year. 84.77 million tonnes are going to the non-regulatory sector, which shows an amazing growth rate of 38.02% year over year. To give you some background, the total amount of coal sent out as of March 31, 2023, was 893.19 million tons.
