Embarking on a transformative mission, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sets the stage for a new era in Tamil Nadu’s progress, unveiling ambitious projects spanning infrastructure, education, and energy sectors.
Tamil Nadu, January 02, 2024 – In a significant development, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to embark on a visit to Tamil Nadu today, the 2nd of January 2024. The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Tiruchirappalli at approximately 10:30 AM, where he will unveil a series of transformative projects aimed at propelling the state’s development.
With an investment exceeding Rs 20,000 crore, the Prime Minister will inaugurate, dedicate to the nation, and lay the foundation stone for a myriad of projects encompassing rail, road, oil and gas, and shipping sectors in Tamil Nadu. The initiatives are poised to make substantial contributions to the region’s infrastructure and economic growth.
At a public event in Tiruchirappalli around noon, Prime Minister Modi will continue the momentum by unveiling additional projects valued at over Rs 19,850 crore. These projects span across aviation, rail, road, oil and gas, shipping, and higher education sectors, underscoring the government’s commitment to holistic development.
Among the key road infrastructure projects is the construction of a 31 km long four-lane road from Mugaiyur to Marakkanam on NH 332A. This strategic road will not only connect ports along the East Coast of Tamil Nadu but will also enhance accessibility to the world heritage site, Mamallapuram, and facilitate improved connectivity to the Kalpakkam Atomic Power Plant.
The Prime Minister will also take the opportunity to dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone for vital Petroleum and Natural Gas projects, collectively valued at over Rs 9000 crore. These projects include the 488 km long natural gas pipeline from IP101 (Chengalpet) to IP 105 (Sayalkudi) by Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), the 697 km long Vijayawada-Dharmapuri Multiproduct (POL) Petroleum Pipeline (VDPL) by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), and the new pipeline terminal at Asanur constructed by IOCL.
This visit underscores the government’s commitment to fostering comprehensive development and reinforcing critical infrastructure in Tamil Nadu, aligning with the vision for a robust and progressive India.
