Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for eight AMRUT projects worth Rs. 2,000 crores in Solapur, Maharashtra. The event included dedications under PMAY-Urban, initiation of PM-SVANIDHI disbursements, and spiritual reflections on the upcoming Ayodhya Pran Pratishtha.
New Delhi, January 19, 2024 – In a significant development for urban rejuvenation, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the foundation stone-laying ceremony for eight projects under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) in Solapur, Maharashtra today. The projects, collectively valued at approximately Rs. 2,000 crores, mark a crucial step towards enhancing urban infrastructure in the region.
During the event, Prime Minister Modi dedicated over 90,000 completed houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-Urban) in Maharashtra. Additionally, he inaugurated 15,000 houses in the Raynagar Housing Society in Solapur, benefiting various segments of society, including handloom workers, vendors, power loom workers, rag pickers, bidi workers, and drivers.
Addressing the gathered audience, Prime Minister Modi expressed the nation’s spiritual fervor ahead of the Pran Pratishtha at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22nd. He emphasized the end of the decades-long practice of Lord Ram’s darshan in a temporary setting, expressing confidence in the successful completion of the ritual. The Prime Minister acknowledged his adherence to the 11-day anushthan’s rules and regulations, conducted under the guidance of saints and seers.

Highlighting the initiation of the special ritual in Panchwati, Nashik, Maharashtra, Prime Minister Modi celebrated the joyous occasion of over one lakh families in Maharashtra experiencing their ‘Grih Pravesh’ during this period of devotion. He shared his delight that these families would illuminate their homes with Ram Jyoti on the evening of January 22nd. In a symbolic gesture, the gathered people pledged their commitment to Ram Jyoti by switching on their mobile flashes, as requested by the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Modi extended congratulations to the people of the region and the entire state of Maharashtra for the successful launch of the projects. He credited the achievements to the hard work of the people of Maharashtra and the proactive efforts of the state government in driving the progress of the state. The Prime Minister expressed optimism about the transformative impact of these initiatives on the overall development and glory of Maharashtra.
