Inauguration of Ayodhya Airport
- The PM will inaugurate Ayodhya Airport, with the front of the terminal building depicting the temple architecture of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir.

At noon, the spotlight turns to the newly built Ayodhya Airport, a pivotal addition to the city’s connectivity. The day culminates with a public program at 1 PM, where the PM will inaugurate, dedicate, and lay foundation stones for projects totaling over Rs 15,700 crore. This includes projects worth Rs 11,100 crore focused on Ayodhya’s development and an additional Rs 4600 crore for projects across Uttar Pradesh.
The PM’s vision encompasses the development of Ayodhya with modern infrastructure, improved connectivity, and revamped civic facilities, all while preserving the city’s rich history and heritage. The unveiled projects, ranging from the airport and railway station to roads and civic infrastructure, represent a significant step toward realizing this vision.
Phase 1 of the state-of-the-art airport is developed at a cost of more than Rs 1450 crore. The airport’s terminal building will have an area of 6500 sqm, equipped to serve about 10 lakh passengers annually. The facade of the Terminal Building depicts the temple architecture of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir of Ayodhya. The interiors of the terminal Building are decorated with local art, paintings & murals depicting the life of Bhagwan Shri Ram. The terminal building of Ayodhya airport is also equipped with various sustainability features like insulated roofing system, LED lighting, rain water harvesting, landscaping with fountains, water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, solar power plant and many other such features have been provided to meet GRIHA – 5 star ratings. The airport will improve connectivity in the region, leading to a boost in tourism, business activities and employment opportunities.

The three-storey structure boasts elevators, escalators, food plazas, shops for puja needs, cloakrooms, and waiting halls, making it an ‘accessible for all’ and ‘IGBC certified green station building.’
Revolutionizing Rail Travel: Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat Trains
Witnessing the Prime Minister’s flag-off ceremony, Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station will welcome the Amrit Bharat Express, a category of superfast passenger trains. Additionally, six new Vande Bharat Trains will embark on their journeys, promising improved facilities such as attractive seat designs, enhanced luggage racks, mobile charging points, LED lights, CCTV, and more.
Strengthening Rail Infrastructure: Dedications and Unveilings
The PM will dedicate three significant railway projects, amounting to Rs 2300 crore, reinforcing the rail infrastructure in the region. These projects include the Rooma Chakeri-Chanderi third line project, various sections of the Jaunpur-Ayodhya-Barabanki doubling project, and the electrification project of the Malhaur-Daliganj railway section.
Roads Redefined: Enhancing Accessibility in Ayodhya
To enhance accessibility to the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir, four newly redeveloped, widened, and beautified roads in Ayodhya will be inaugurated. These roads, namely Rampath, Bhaktipath, Dharampath, and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Path, aim to improve connectivity and the overall cityscape.
Civic Infrastructure and Beautification: A New Ayodhya Unveiled
Beyond transportation, the PM will inaugurate projects enhancing civic infrastructure and beautifying public spaces in Ayodhya. Notable projects include the Rajarshi Dashrath Autonomous State Medical College, four-lane roads, an ROB at Badi Bua Railway Crossing, a solid waste treatment plant, and new buildings for Dr. Brajkishore Homoeopathic College and Hospital.

Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of a greenfield township in Ayodhya, a new NH-28 (new NH-27) Lucknow-Ayodhya section, the strengthening and modification of NH-28 (new NH-27) existing Ayodhya bypass, the establishment of the CIPET center, and the construction of the Municipal Corporation Ayodhya and Ayodhya Development Authority office.
Uttar Pradesh on the Development Map: Projects Across the State
The public program will witness the inauguration and dedication of significant projects across Uttar Pradesh, reinforcing the commitment to comprehensive development. These include four-lane widening, strengthening and upgradation of road sections, capacity increase of LPG plants, sewage treatment plants, and CETP for the Tannery Cluster at Jajmau in Kanpur.
